When a guest asks to bring someone
Approving plus-ones, and what each kind does to your headcount.
Anyone you have invited can ask to bring someone. The request appears at the top of your event under Asking To Bring Someone, with who is asking and anything they added.
What happens when you say yes
- •A plus-one is added to the person who asked. Your guest list shows them as, for example, Dana +1, and your headcount goes up accordingly. Nobody is contacted, because there is nobody to contact.
- •A named person gets their own invitation, sent by you. From that point they are an ordinary guest with their own link.
If approving would take you past your Max Attendees, you are told rather than allowed to overfill. Lower the party, raise the cap, or decline.
Turning it off
Edit the event and switch off Guests can ask to bring someone. Use it for an event where even being asked puts you in an awkward position. It is on by default, because being asked is not the same as being obliged.
Someone who has asked not to be contacted by Splirg cannot be invited this way either — the request is refused, and the person who asked is not told why.
