Create an event
The quick way and the full way to get an event live.
Hosting starts on the home page, under Host an Activity. There is no generic "new event" button — every event begins with what you are actually doing.
- •Your activities — the row of shortcuts at the top, taken from the activities on your profile. Tap one and the wizard opens with that activity already chosen, so you skip the Activity step entirely.
- •Anything else — tap a category tile below the row and pick the activity from there.
The shortcut row is built from your profile activities, so adding an activity there adds it here too.
From there you have two routes.
Quick create
The fast path, and the one every Private event takes: a title, a date and time, and optionally a place and a note for guests. That is enough to publish. Use it when you just want something on the calendar.
Once you have picked the activity, a Skill level & gear row appears showing what is set. Tap Change to pick a minimum skill level or say which gear is required, optional or provided. It is optional, and it only appears for activities that have skill levels or gear.
Need more control? Tap More options — venue type, duration, guest cap to switch to the full flow.
The full flow
A step-by-step wizard:
- 1Type — Open, Request to Join, or Private.
- 2Venue — public space, private venue, or private residence.
- 3Activity — which activity this is. Skipped when you started from one of your own activities on the home page.
- 4Details — title, date and time or a time poll, duration, description, guest cap.
- 5Location — address, with a map pin you can drag to be exact.
- 6Requirements — minimum skill level and gear.
- 7Review — check it over and publish.
Not sure of the date yet? Choose to propose times instead and let your guests vote. See Propose times and let guests vote.
Guests can ask to bring someone, and you decide each time — see When a guest asks to bring someone.
On open and request-to-join events, the people coming can invite others too — see Letting the people coming invite others.
