Inviting friends to an event you are going to
Public and RSVP events let the people coming invite others too.
Opening an event up to strangers does not stop the host wanting their friends there — and it does not stop you wanting yours. On public and RSVP events, anyone who is coming can invite people, not just the host.
Once you are confirmed, Bring People You Know appears on the event page. It works the same way the host’s does: paste a list of emails or phone numbers, or search for people already on Splirg.
What your invite is worth
- •Open events — anyone can join anyway, so whoever you invite can come straight in.
- •Request to Join events — the host approves everybody. Whoever you invite goes to the host with your name on it, which is usually the fastest way through: a host approving a stranger is guessing, a host approving your friend is not.
You get ten invites per event. The host has no limit on their own event — their reputation is the one riding on it.
If you do not see it
- •You have to be confirmed, not waiting on approval yourself.
- •The host can switch it off for their event.
- •Private events work differently — there the host does the inviting, and you can ask to bring someone instead.
